BENTO: Repurposing Leftovers for Lunch
Переглядів 6416 років тому
It's about this time of year when I start to feel like I'm in a rut when it comes to packing my kids' school lunch bentos, or my work bentos. Time to recommit to bento packing! One of my favorite techniques is to work smarter, not harder, and repurpose dinner leftovers into something new to go into the bento box. I'll share with you how I turned a vegan dinner into a vegan lunch. I'll also teac...

Japan is my favorite place on the planet and I recently got to spend a week there as a guest of the Japan National Tourism Organization, and here's what happened. Hi, whats the difference between rice cooked in a pot and rice cooked in a ricecooker?

    • @lafujimama
      @lafujimama 4 роки тому

      VFR800Fi1 Convenience! If you have a good quality rice cooker. You can put the rice in the rice cooker in the morning before you leave for work so that you have one less thing to worry about when you come home to make dinner. It is always perfectly cooked. You don’t have to worry about monitoring it on the stove. I always make enough rice for 2 days. The rice stays perfectly fresh, like it just finished cooking on the stove.

    Delicious! A great hit with family and guests. I've avoided making baklava because I'm not keen for phyllo dough. Using Pillsbury Crescent dough is great alternative. Anyone complaining that this isn't the same as traditional baklava, I can attest that it's close enough. Remember, it's simply an alternative. You can use your own baklava recipe and syrup, minus the phyllo😉.

    I just made my first soy milk. Now, I'm ready to try making tofu. I might start with lemon, or vinegar. If that doesn't work, I'll look for some nigari. Thanks for the video.

      I did it with the lemon. It turned out really well.. Kind of soft, so I'm going to do it again and press a little longer. I made some scrambled tofu with onions and mushrooms, the next morning. It tightened up when it sauteed in the vegi broth. Soooo good. I might get hooked on homemade tofu now. I'm going to make it with lemon again. Might try it with vinegar too. Just noticed dddux's post. Going to try simmering a little longer... Thanks.
